Responsibilities

Evolution Hospitality Services is seeking a Senior Accountant that thrives in a fast-paced environment.  This is a hands-on position that will support sound financial management of the company and have primary responsibility for ensuring we maximize revenue for our partner hotels through aggressive and creative approaches while controlling our expenses for our operating sites across the US.  This position will be key in allowing the organization to have effective financial planning and robust analytics to properly drive the financial expectations.

 

The Senior Accountant will:

 

• Utilize lean principles and best practices to implement more efficient accounting procedures and financial controls
• Prepare, analyze and present monthly operating results to management and operation team and address any areas for improvement
• Lead creation of accurate Forecast, Annual Budget and business plan process
• Ensure a strong accounting and operating control environment to safeguard assets, improve operations and profitability. Ensure compliance with all applicable local laws and procedures.
• Accurately record daily banking transactions through the general ledger.
• Process accounts payable and issue payments
• Process accounts receivables
• Prepare and record customer invoices/billings and assist with collections.
• Assist with payroll processing.
• Participate in month-end close process within Company deadlines.
• Perform, review and post journal entries and variance analysis as assigned
• Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule.
• Prepare monthly sales tax reporting.
• Prepare ad hoc reports for management as needed.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Assist with the preparation of the annual budgets.
• Prepare ad hoc reports for management as needed.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or CPA Candidate preferred
  • 3-5 years of related work experience
  • Working knowledge of accounting best practices
  • Previous experience with financial strategy and process improvement
  • Experience with Quickbooks and Microsoft Dynamics GP highly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Demonstrate above average time management, organizational, creativity, and cooperation skills
  • Attention to detail – analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions one-on-one and in small groups with managers, and other employees
  • Problem-solving skills
